Casual Bench Rental

If you are a student or practicing jeweller, you can rent a bench at our studio and use our equipment.

We have a full range of tools and equipment, including benches fitted with flex-shafts, and soldering torches (reticulated gas and oxygen), a rolling mill, draw bench, tumblers, ultrasonic cleaner and polishing machine and two kilns. There is a separate annealing area and a fully equipped hammer room with a lathe, grinder and pedestal drill.

In addition the workshop has a PUK (pulse ark) and TIG welder. (If you wish to use the latter equipment you will need to book tuition.)

If you have not been to our studio before, please call and arrange a visit, so you can get a feel for our workspace and understand what equipment and space we offer.

Our casual bench rental is available depending on bench availability on:

Fridays 10am – 1.30pm.

You will need to have demonstrated jewellery making skills and experience to rent a bench.
When you book a casual bench, there will be a one-hour safety and tool maintenance induction.
You need to supply your own metal and consumables, such as solder, saw blades, drills and burrs. Silver can be purchased from the studio.

Our casual daily rate is for independent work in the studio (without tuition).
