Our Policies

Our Studio is fully equipped and to ensure your safety while working and learning with us.

We have a number of policies with which everyone must comply.

Studio Induction

You will be required to participate in a studio induction when you start working with us at our studio. The induction includes procedures for safe handling of torches, safe use of tools, use of Personal Protective Equipment, familiarisation with first aid and fire equipment and general studio rules and procedures.

Dress Code

As you will be working with potentially hazardous tools and materials, we require everyone to wear a T-shirt, jeans/long trousers and closed in shoes. Also, if you have long hair, please tie it back.

The dress-code requirements are for your own safety.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Payment is due in advance (at the time of booking). If you are unable to attend, please let us know at least five business days before class starts. In that case, you will receive a credit note, less 10% administration fee, and this is redeemable within 12 months.

If we cancel a class you will be given a full refund.

COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Strategy

Contemporary Metal  implemented a COVID-19 risk mitigation strategy in March 2020, which addressed the following:

  • The number of students per class has been reduced from 15 to 8 for maximum social distancing. No student sits next to and/or across from another student.
  • Use of hand sanitiser upon entering the workshop and hand hygiene thorough out classes.
  • Disinfecting all surfaces, benches, tools, pendant drills, torches and headsets prior to and after classes.
  • All students and the teacher wear a  three ply face mask during classes. The face masks are for single use only.
  • It is highly recommended that all students have the flu vaccination and download the COVIDSafe application. Please Note: students registered for the 5-week courses are required to have a flu vaccination during the annual flu season. However, those students who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons are to provide a letter from their Doctor.

If you feel unwell and or you live with someone who is not well or fit any of the COVID-19 virus self -isolation criteria, please do not come to the class. Arrangements will be made for a catch up class.
